Baptism by fire.

In the cold
and the rain
Into heat
you've come again

And cruel death
rose all around
from the sky
down to the ground

And the fire
kept coming from the sky
And the fire
kept raining from on high

streaks of light
all lit up
I don't wanna
drink this cup

on we fight
in death's ground
in his sight

And the fire
kept coming from the sky
And the fire
kept raining from on high

alone we go in
but out we come
as brothers

I had an image of this futuristic war, like when we used to play Starcraft, except it was from the point of view of one of the space marines. For a moment I was inside this guy's head feeling and seeing what he was. The poem is an image of that.
